We have reported last month that the idol group AKB48 will be releasing their first original album entitled "Koko ni Ita Koto" on April 6. Due to to unforeseen events, they decided to postpone it until further notice.
Here's a word from AKB48's official blog:
To the victims of the Tohoku Pacific Ocean earthquake, you have our deepest heartfelt sympathies. We sincerely pray that there is a quick recovery.AKB48's Koko ni Ita Koto includes hits such as Ponytail to Shushu,Heavy Rotation, Beginner, and Chance no Junban. The remaining 12 songs will be new songs that fans never heard before. It will be released in two different versions, a limited edition [CD+DVD] versionand the regular [CD+DVD] version. Albums purchased at any of the theater performances will include a ticket to a handshake event and a photographing session with the girls.
We had originally planned on releasing AKB48’s album, “Koko ni Ita Koto”, on April 6th, but due to the earthquake on March 11th, it has affected the production schedule and it’s difficult to choose an appropriate day for release.
Most of all, we are taking the feelings of those affected by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami into consideration. It is because of this that we have decided to postpone the album.
We beg that everyone understands and accepts this.
The Limited Edition [CD+DVD] version includes a special box set that comes with an exclusive 100-page photobook, a collectible card randomly selected from 14 kinds featuring one of the girls, and an application for a special lottery. The DVD will also contain a few special goodies for fans like dance versions of their four hit songs alongside with their music videos.
